Back to Day 1
Plaintext-first apps in the age of agents
Jul 12 14:00 - 14:15
What if the best way to build AI-native software is to not add any AI features at all?
This talk is a love letter to the plaintext weirdos — the people who insist on keeping their lives in simple, human-readable files — and an argument that they’ve accidentally been preparing for the age of agents all along.
I’ll demo caldir, a calendar that’s just a folder of plaintext files, and show how designing for files instead of APIs can make local-first apps radically more useful to agents.
