Building more resilient local-first software with atproto

We live in an era of sync server abundance. It’s easier than ever to sign up for a VC-backed sync solution, or run an open source sync server ourselves. But too often, local-first promises live and die by this dependence on bespoke infrastructure.

What better way to minimize that dependence than by tapping into a network that shares our goals of user agency and data ownership? This talk explores using atproto to build realtime collaborative apps — without running any dedicated infrastructure.
