Brendan O'Brien

I work on iroh, a p2p networking library in rust, but my core passion is distributed systems. Sync has been, and will likely always be the core thing that people build on top of p2p connections. We’ve spent a lot of time researching, implementing, and adopting different sync primitives.

We’ve paid special attention to set reconciliation, covering Range-based set reconciliation and rateless invertible bloom lookup tables on YouTube as a means of spreading knowledge around these techniques.

I’m extremely passionate about constructing compelling stories that draw audiences to engage with hard problems in ways that they can see themselves within.
